A complete reconstruction of a run down two storey house in the old Castle area at Chora in Naxos island, Greece.
Two separate apartments, 65m2 each, which each consist of a living area, a kitchen, a bathroom and outdoor spaces.
Since both houses will be used by the owners but they will also be offered as rental accommodation during the tourist season, interior design had to be aesthetically appealing as well as simple and practical.
Our office was responsible for the interior architecture of the two houses, as well as for the design of some fixed furnishing elements.
Even though both floors are different in style due to clients’ requirements, on both floors natural materials (limewash, naxian marble, wood, ceramics) and color schemes have been used.
Our attempt was to maintain as well as highlight the original venetian style elements which were revealed during construction in both apartments. We also succeeded in allowing views towards the sea and in creating cozy and aesthetically pleasing environments. Our primary goal was to design a relaxing and inspiring holiday retreat with a sense of elder times.
